Oil on slim linen canvas NFS
Inspiration: An oil painting of wild daisies, growing alongside the pavement less than a mile from my home. They have self-seeded and continue along the base of the front garden walls for some distance.
On the day I saw them, some of the daisies were in full sunshine, while others were in the cool of the shade. Each individual flower seems to have its own character - something which became more marked as I was painting and slowly realised that this fairly modest-sized painting contained over 150 of these flower heads!
I just love these wild daisies, to me they are every bit as beautiful as cultivated flowers.
